Barton Lorimor (he/him/his) is a husband and father with professional interests in executive communications, public policy, and corporate affairs.

Barton regularly acts as a confidential advisor and liaison to senior executives needing to impact key stakeholders in times of growth and crisis. By exploring ways these executive can better share their technical expertise with diverse audiences, clients have come to expect Barton’s practice to translate into sustainable strategies that address acute needs and long-term goals.

As a consultant and Principal of Full Stack Strategies, LLC, Barton’s practice has involved working with clients in highly visible and heavily regulated spaces:

  • Health Care: From major insurance plans to public health administrators, and community advocates stitching together the threads in the social safety net. Barton has represented some of the Midwest’s largest care providers and modest charities within the U.S. health care system.
  • Professional Services: Business have especially benefited from Barton’s full-slate of senior executive management services. Aside from spending two years as a corporate sponsorships manager for a legal trade association, Barton has also managed marketing campaigns and organizational restructures on behalf of law firms, multinational business consultants, and B2B platforms engaging customers throughout North America.
  • Public Affairs: By keeping in-touch with state and local government leaders and their constituents, Barton is able to make better connections between those halls of power and newsrooms, board rooms, break rooms, and kitchen tables.

Before embarking in 2020 on corporate and public affairs project management consulting, Barton was a journalist and senior advisor specializing in public finance policy. His ability to turn legislative and regulatory processes into engaging media for niche publications and global news syndicates made Barton a notable presence at the Illinois State Capitol early in life. It’s an ability that served him as an “other duties as assigned” staffer to the Illinois State Comptroller – the Constitutional officer elected to oversee state fiscal management and public accounting standards. As an aide in the administrations of the Hon. Judy Baar Topinka and the Hon. Leslie Munger, Barton was tasked with delivering large-scale organizational and I.T. projects transforming public interactions with state government, preparing comprehensive financial reports and proprietary policy counsel, and providing constituent services even during the most disruptive budget crisis in Illinois history. Barton’s reputation for “a work ethic that has him involved in every facet of the office” was later applied to address extensive change management and procedural documentation needs at the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

Barton also has a rich history with political campaigns. No stranger to picking up clipboards and working call centers, Barton has engaged voters in dozens of national, statewide, legislative, and municipal elections. Candidates across the partisan spectrum have made use of his tactics before, during, and after all votes are counted.

Born and raised in McLean County, Ill., Barton was a member of the Normal Community West High School graduating Class of 2007. He earned in 2011 a dual bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and married his college sweetheart, Jenette, shortly thereafter. Barton and Jen live in Springfield, Ill., with their two children.
